I’m Megan Cox, a self-taught potter living and working in Liverpool. From my basement studio, I create small-batch, wheel-thrown ceramics designed for the table and home — functional pieces meant to be part of daily life.

My work is inspired by the traditions of British studio pottery and a deep fascination with medieval and Anglo-Saxon pottery. I’m drawn to the simplicity, raw beauty, and enduring forms found in these historical pieces, as well as the use of local, natural materials. I focus on creating ceramics that blend function and beauty, believing that handmade objects carry a quiet presence and value: they invite touch, draw attention to small details, and bring moments of care and connection into everyday rituals.

Each piece is made by hand on the wheel, with careful attention to form, proportion, and finish. I work in small batches, allowing space to explore subtle variations in shape, glaze, and texture. I embrace the slight irregularities and marks of the handmade process, which give every item its own unique character. My work is grounded in a philosophy of slow living — valuing thoughtful design, mindful making, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

My palette is soft and natural, often inspired by the muted tones and surfaces found in the British landscape. The result is a collection of honest, well-made pieces designed to be used, cherished, and woven into the rhythm of daily life.
